POP, the new, low-cost, long-haul airline that plans to operate the only current non-stop flights between the UK and India's second cities, is delighted that leading Gujarat law firm VAP Associates has agreed to become one of its corporate partners.

Headquartered in Ahmedabad, VAP Associates has a network of regional offices and has recently extended its reach into the UK by establishing local associated offices. The firm offers a wide range of litigation, non-litigation and corporate administrative services and is renowned for representations at the Hon. High Court of Gujarat and Apex court of India. Highly skilled in dealing with complex legal issues, VAP Associates also assists its commercial clients to develop a strong commercial presence in India in the context of an ever-changing, highly competitive international business and trade environment.

VAP Associates adheres strongly to the principle that ‘integrity is more valuable than income’, making the firm an ideal corporate partner for POP whose business model commits the airline to donating a minimum of 51% of its profits to the communities it serves in both countries.

The Executive Board of VAP Associates commented: “VAP considers itself to be very fortunate to be part of POP and its campaign. POP delivers a social corporate balance never seen before, it takes a special kind of passion and dedication to think for the wider society and not profit alone.”

POP’s initial plan involves the operation of non-stop flights to both Ahmedabad (Gujarat) and Amritsar (Punjab), offering enhanced value to the growing VFR (visiting friends and relatives) market as well as the expanding leisure-tourism and business sectors. It is anticipated that the first POP flight will depart from Stansted Airport this year (Q4 2016) to Amritsar using a 378-seat, all-economy Airbus A330-300 aircraft in POP livery. The airline intends to fly three services weekly to both Amritsar and Ahmedabad.

POP has recently launched a rewards-based crowdfunding campaign which aims to raise £5m to support the airline’s first-year operation. Supporters are being offered a five-year POP Gold Pass for £500 which will confer eight VIP benefits. VAP Associates will be voluntarily supporting the promotion of this membership campaign, assisting with Gold Pass membership in Gujarat and the surrounding regions.
