POP establishes corporate partnership with British Young Asian Entrepreneurs (BYAE) 

POP, currently crowdfunding to become a new, low-cost, long-haul airline that plans to operate the only current non-stop flights between the UK and two of India's leading second cities – Amritsar in Punjab and Ahmedabad in Gujarat – is delighted to announce that British Young Asian Entrepreneurs (BYAE) is to become one of its corporate partners. 

BYAE is a free-to-join, non-profit association bringing young Asian entrepreneurs together and helping them to succeed through a wide range of innovative and diverse networking events, business workshops and other special projects across the UK.

Highly conscious of the economic, social and environmental issues facing business in a global context, BYAE is working – as a like-minded community – towards sustainable development. It’s an approach that fits well with POP’s ‘caring capitalism’ business model. The airline will be donating at least 51% of its profits to good causes, via four charities in the UK and in India, with the goal of making transformative, sustainable changes to people's lives both in both countries.

Mousuf Chowdhury, CEO of BYAE, commented: "POP are pioneering a business model which is founded in making a positive difference for the community. They are challenging the status quo and we are delighted to be one of their corporate partners." 

It is the intention that the first POP flight will depart from Stansted Airport this year (in Q4 2016) to Amritsar, using a 378-seat all-economy Airbus A330-300 aircraft in POP livery. The airline plans to then operate three services weekly to both Amritsar and Ahmedabad. The company has provisional plans to apply for its own full Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) but will continue to lease its aircraft which should yield greater financial returns to POP and to its supported causes.

POP recently launched a crowdfunding campaign involving the sale of POP Gold Passes, each priced at £500. The first 10,000 Gold Pass holders will win one free off-peak return seat to any POP destination and will, for the following five years, be entitled to a range of eight VIP benefits both on the ground and in the air.
